Important Opportunity What is the biggest concern of the NACS membership? Based upon what I heard at Zone meetings and other contacts with members the concern is staffing. We don't have enough trained staff and are not hiring and training loan officers. The agency will be unable to maintain delivery of a supervised loan program at current staffing levels. The NACS board discussed this issue with Juan Garcia and Chris Beyerhelm at our meetings in Washington. It was also the priority issue discussed during a meeting with Under Secretary Karis Gutter. The NACS National Convention June 28th through July 2, 2014 is an important opportunity for the membership to express their concerns. FSA Administrator Juan Garcia, DAFO Greg Diephouse and DAFLP Chris Beyerhelm have all indicated that they are planning on attending our convention. I know many of you in understaffed offices are feeling overwhelmed and that you don't feel you can take the time to attend convention. I hope you consider the important opportunity available to you to make contact with FSA leadership and fellow NACS members at convention. The NACS Board has budgeted $2400 for incentive for members attending convention for the first time. The incentive will be paid in an amount not to exceed $200.00 per first time attendee. Members from the convention host state are not eligible for the incentive. Members that joined NACS for the first time within the last year and are attending convention will be entered into a drawing with the winner receiving $200.00. It is said there is strength in numbers. I hope convention 2014 is a show of strength and that you will be a part of the strength. Allen D. Hall NACS President
