President Update #12
It Is Time We are quickly approaching February and March. The time of year when NACS has Zone Meetings. I attended my first Zone B Meeting in 1990 and have missed only one since then because of weather conditions. I will always remember how impressed I was by NACS at that meeting. Members in attendance were very committed to their jobs and wanted to improve the service we deliver to rural America. They also had the opportunity to speak one to one with Deputy Administrators from Washington. I returned home very proud to say I am a NACS member. I also told my wife we would attend the National Convention in Spokane Washington that year. I look forward to attending all 4 Zone Meetings this year and exchanging ideas with friends and co-workers. It is a time to be grateful for the success we have had and share what we have learned from past failures and adversity. If you are a regular attendee at Zone Meetings and National Convention I look forward to seeing you again. If you have not attended in the past I urge you to take advantage of the opportunity available to you. Yes it will take some of your time and money; but it can reward you many times over. Have an Unbelievable Day Allen D. Hall "You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read." - Charles "Tremendous" Jones.

ENJOY ILLINOIS!
SAVE THE DATE!! 2014 NATIONAL CONVENTION NACS/NASP/NASE/NADD CROWNE PLAZA CHICAGO O'HARE ROSEMONT, ILLINOIS JUNE 29 - JULY 2, 2014 Come early for a Cubs game on 6/28/14, Saturday afternoon and stay late for Chicago fireworks at Navy Pier. Lots of fun activities planned including a yacht cruise with dinner included and baseball game(s). Both teams Sox and Cubs are in town. More information will be posted on our Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/EnjoyIllinois2014 Happy New Year I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas and were able to have time to celebrate the holidays with family and friends. As I write this update winter is definitely here in Nebraska. We only have about an inch of snow on the ground; but, the thermometer reading is -9. The Farm Program, Farm Loan Program, Information Technology and Management/Personnel Committee Reports with National Office responses have all been posted to the web site. I want to thank all of the committee members and Vice-President Tanya Dostal for getting that task completed in December so we all have a chance to review them before the Zone meetings. Thank you also goes to Mark Drewitz for getting them posted on the web site. Registration forms for the 4 Zone meetings are also available on the web site. I hope that many of you are planning on attending your Zone meeting. The meetings are a great opportunity to provide input to the national office and to your NACS organization. As your NACS President I look forward to the opportunity to talk to members face to face about our association and the service we provide to rural America. The national office had scheduled a tele-conference with all employee association presidents on December 9th to discuss the Service Delivery Review. The call was canceled and to date has not been rescheduled. Hopefully when congress reconvenes they will be able to pass a new farm bill; but, the reports about the possibility of that happening are wide ranging. I do know that we still have a loan program to administer and have the opportunity to provide many people with an opportunity to establish a successful operation. Have an Unbelievable Day Allen D.
