I just got back from Washington DC where I attended the national MPP and FSFL training meetings and am now working on preparing for our state wide training meetings.
The SED's were also in DC that week attending the training meeting as well as thier own managment meetings. We all had the pleasure of having Secretary Vilsack come and thank us for all that we have accomplished and the work that we do. He was very appreciative or our efforts. The Bridges to Opportunity task force continues to be a high priority. Oregon and Minnesota have held their initial stakeholder meetings and Connecticut, North Carolina and Texas will be having theirs in the near future. A new task force was also started on how we move to a paperless system. Myself, Denise Lickteig from Nebraska and Jessica Davis from Idaho will be serving on this task force. Please contact us with your thoughts and suggestions on what you would like to see in a paperless system. The National Office has also provided us with a update on the automation systems. This has been posted to the nacs-fsa.org web site under new postings. Courtney Dixon and her staff have indicated that they will be providing these on a regular basis in the future. So please check the website periodically for updates! Chris Beyerhelm just held a teleconference with all of the FLP Chiefs so please visit with them about what was covered. It looks like there will be a national FLP training meeting coming up in October. The chiefs will be asking for field staff input and possible attendance. Please contact any of the board if you have questions. Tanya Dostal NACS President
